Allow the Info View to be split in half, and use the other half as a real-time monitor that scrolls MIDI messages coming into Live. Create a toggle button in that view that allows the user to toggle between showing either Note, Controller, Pressure, etc. messages.
Also, a MIDI monitor effect that can be placed anywhere in the Device Chain to monitor MIDI messages thru the chain. This would show all events, have a buffer, some filter options, and an expanded view option similar to Spectrum that shows detailed info. It could also be collapsed into a MIDI meter similar to the MIDI Track meters.
MIDI Event View/Edit
In Clip View, add an 'M' button below Clip properties that toggles a view of the clip's MIDI events.
Turning on the MIDI Event view could replace the piano roll area, the combined Launch, Notes, and Envelopes properties area, or it could appear below/above the piano roll area. The latter 2 options would allow the user to see the MIDI Event & Piano Roll views at the same time.
Allowing the user to scroll and edit the midi information would be a must.
